Why everyone keeps coming back.

Montgó di Bongo Jávea is a Mediterranean gem nestled along Avinguda del Mediterrània in the charming coastal town of Xàbia, Alicante. This unique establishment effortlessly blends the flavors of a refined Mediterranean restaurant, the casual warmth of a beachside bar & grill, and the sophisticated ambiance of a piano bar, making it a versatile destination for both locals and travelers seeking a memorable dining experience by the sea.

From the moment you arrive, the relaxed, laid-back vibe invites you to unwind and savor each moment. The restaurant’s cuisine offers a delightful journey through Mediterranean flavors, with a surprisingly varied menu that caters to diverse palates. Guests often highlight the inventive touches woven into every dish—each course served here feels thoughtfully crafted to surprise and satisfy. While some have noted the food menu can be limited during peak times, those who stay for the full experience are rewarded with an authentic Spanish approach to dining, where meals are meant to be savored over two to three hours, not rushed.

Picture yourself gazing out over the sun-kissed water, the soft melodies of piano music mingling with the gentle sea breeze, and each bite delivering the fresh, vibrant tastes of the Mediterranean. Popular dishes mentioned by regulars include grilled delights that capture the essence of the region’s coastal bounty, enhanced with herbs and spices that awaken the palate with every mouthful.

The staff at Montgó di Bongo add to the charm, often described as friendly and helpful, ensuring you feel welcome from the moment you sit down. However, it’s worth noting that the pace here reflects the local culture—meals are leisurely affairs where time seems to slow down, allowing diners to truly connect with the atmosphere and company.

Whether you come to watch the sunrise, enjoy a chilled cocktail by the beach, or spend the evening immersed in live piano music, Montgó di Bongo Jávea offers an unforgettable setting with views that are nothing short of breathtaking. Despite a few mixed experiences regarding service speed and attentiveness, the consensus remains that this spot is unbeatable for those who appreciate a genuine Mediterranean dining experience woven with local laid-back charm.

For those seeking to combine culinary pleasure with stunning seaside views and a calm, inviting atmosphere, Montgó di Bongo Jávea is a top recommendation on the Alicante coast. Have your camera ready, your appetite sharpened, and prepare for a dining experience that feels both familiar and refreshingly unique.

Chilled laid back beach bar. With a suprisingly varied menu. Lovely helpfull staff, and each course of our meal was very enjoyable, with a few unexpected touchs thrown in. I have seen a few comments about slow service, look your in Spain, lunch is supppsed to take 2/3 hours!

Lovely location , but staff not very switched on. Sat way too long waiting for a menu, despite asking three different people. Left and went next door to siesta. So much better. Would recommend every time.

Have to be honest and say we normally go to the Siesta Bar on arrival and then rarely visit again in the weeks we are here. BUT hold on, went next door today, sat at a table on the beach and enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch, you need to be patient with the service when busy, if you don't have your order off pack when you arrive there can be a little challenge getting your order in but having said that....just relax and enjoy..... The first visit to Montgo Di Bongo a few years back we had a couple of G&Ts woooo yum. Do visit, recommended....
